There is a huge difference in our handmade boots compared to a mass produced boot you may find on the shelf at a store. We stake our reputation on the quality of our boots and are able to sell our boots direct to you without the mark-up of traditional retail. Don’t be confused by other online companies that are not master bootmakers.

The Leather Construction – many factory boots use synthetic material that makes the initial feel more comfortable. This is similar to putting on a sneaker. That material acts like an initial cushion but the unknown factor is that it does not breathe or let toxins out. Like a sneaker it gets nasty over a short amount of time and it will degrade. We routinely resole boots 10-30 years old that have all leather natural soles, but that would not be possible with a factory boot that has synthetic material (it’s pretty disgusting). Like a good baseball glove, a full leather boot will conform to your foot and become extremely comfortable over time – don’t compromise. The Material – We hand-pick our hides from the best tanneries and only allow the best quality. Competitors that mass produce boots source in bulk and these commercial dealers provide the cheapest material. Much of this material loses integrity and may crack or tear, minimizing the life of the boot. There is a huge difference in leather quality – only settle for the best. The soles of many factory boots are made of composite (pressed leather and cardboard particles) – of course this will not last long. We only use the finest sole leather that provides the durability that you expect.

The Craftsmanship – All of our customs boots are 100% handmade in our Houston, TX bootshop. In the 1836 Collection (stock line of boots) our team in our North American shops (Houston & Leon) handcraft them with a standardized design and we cut out the middle-man to lower our price to you. In our custom boots we hand shape our toe boxes, hand stitch the tops, hand last the fit, and pour many more hours in finalizing the perfect boot. We do it the old-school way, because it’s the right way.

A very unique place I bought some boots got home and found something wrong with one boot brought it back and they fixed it. If you have time to wait for a pair they also do custom boots. This is one place that stands behind their boots they sell. I highly recommend this place also they did a great job putting new heal caps on my boots

Stopped by the other day just to pick up a couple of Devil Dog Jeans and then Madison saw us. Welllll I have one pair of 1836 now I have 2. If you're ordering boots from this place you will never get the experience of this small shop. I would recommend going there. They are the absolute best shop you will ever experience. Very cool experience picking out custom boots with them. The whole place has a positive vibe and employees that actually seem happy and proud of where they work. We were immediately greeted by two employees asking how they could help us. Haley was thorough and patient when walking me through the custom boot process. I went later In the day and the store actually closed before we were done with all the choices but we didn’t even realize it because nobody was rushing people out. I will preface that I have not yet bought anything here however I have been wanting to stop in here since I started traveling to Houston for work and I was able to stop in for a few minutes between engagements last week (first week or rodeo 2025). The shop is really cool and the staff was very helpful. I only had time to try on one pair of boots...I tried on the Crocketts in my normal size 13 with and without the insole, boots were a little to snug on the ball of my feet and my instep. Did not have time try on a bigger pair, but hopefully next time I am down there! The layout of the shop was really nice and lots of cool leather gear (coasters, journals and all sorts of stuff). Looking forward to actually getting something from them in the near future.

Best boot company ever

I just bought these boots and at first they were a little difficult for me to put on my left foot even with the zipper because I had surgery on my foot when I was a child. When I would text Republic about my concerns with the boots they were very helpful and respectful of my problems. Now these boots fit great and my favorite pair of boots. I will definitely be buying more boots from Republic boot co. again.

I know you guys are caught up in the traditional, 12” top cowboy boot style. But I’ve been waiting for you to come out with more of a roper style boot. I like the lower heel, and I love what you did with the zipper. I don’t use it all the time but it’s a great accessory - helps to get it on easy. Great job Republic!
