WHY REPUBLIC BOOT CO?

There is a huge difference in our handmade boots compared to a mass produced boot you may find on the shelf at a store. We stake our reputation on the quality of our boots and are able to sell our boots direct to you without the mark-up of traditional retail. Don’t be confused by other online companies that are not master bootmakers.

The Leather Construction – many factory boots use synthetic material that makes the initial feel more comfortable. This is similar to putting on a sneaker. That material acts like an initial cushion but the unknown factor is that it does not breathe or let toxins out. Like a sneaker it gets nasty over a short amount of time and it will degrade. We routinely resole boots 10-30 years old that have all leather natural soles, but that would not be possible with a factory boot that has synthetic material (it’s pretty disgusting). Like a good baseball glove, a full leather boot will conform to your foot and become extremely comfortable over time – don’t compromise. The Material – We hand-pick our hides from the best tanneries (mostly ours) and only allow the best quality. Competitors that mass produce boots source in bulk and these commercial dealers provide the cheapest material. Much of this material loses integrity and may crack or tear, minimizing the life of the boot. There is a huge difference in leather quality – only settle for the best. The soles of many factory boots are made of composite (pressed leather and cardboard particles) – of course this will not last long. We only use the finest sole leather that provides the durability that you expect.

The Craftsmanship – All of our customs boots are 100% handmade in our Houston, TX bootshop. In the 1836 Collection (stock line of boots) our team in our North American shops handcraft them with a standardized design and we cut out the middle-man to lower our price to you. In our custom boots we hand shape our toe boxes, hand stitch the tops, hand last the fit, and pour many more hours in finalizing the perfect boot. We do it the old-school way, because it’s the right way.
