Lined with a lightweight yet impenetrable snake guard, they’re surrounded by rich oil-tanned calf that can be conditioned to enhance its classic, rugged character. The tough bison vamp is made to withstand years of abuse in the roughest terrain.

A lugged Vibram rubber sole provides exceptional grip, while water resistance keeps you dry in wet conditions (short of standing in water for hours). The strong side zipper ensures easy on/off, and the 20" calf height is perfect for tucking in jeans when navigating thorn country.

Our stock boots are 'true to size' in order to conform perfectly with your foot, but this makes them more of a custom feel (slightly tighter). Other companies tend to oversize their boots, so if you want a comparable fit then go up a half size (if a 10 in other stock boots, order a 10.5) - Its free to exchange if something is off!

Ladies these are also for you - size down 1.5 sizes (if you are a size 10 in ladies then order this men's size 8.5).

Our Full Leather Insoles allow the Width to be Modifiable! They are built on a EE base and have a full leather insole that (when inserted) makes the boot a D width (normal). So, simply remove this leather insert for EE (wide) width, or keep it inserted for D (normal) width. They will conform comfortably to your feet either way.

The Leather Construction – many factory boots use synthetic material that makes the initial feel more comfortable. This is similar to putting on a sneaker. That material acts like an initial cushion but the unknown factor is that it does not breathe or let toxins out. Like a sneaker it gets nasty over a short amount of time and it will degrade. We routinely resole boots 10-30 years old that have all leather natural soles, but that would not be possible with a factory boot that has synthetic material (it’s pretty disgusting). Like a good baseball glove, a full leather boot will conform to your foot and become extremely comfortable over time – don’t compromise. The Material – We hand-pick our hides from the best tanneries and only allow the best quality. Competitors that mass produce boots source in bulk and these commercial dealers provide the cheapest material. Much of this material loses integrity and may crack or tear, minimizing the life of the boot. There is a huge difference in leather quality – only settle for the best. The soles of many factory boots are made of composite (pressed leather and cardboard particles) – of course this will not last long. We only use the finest sole leather that provides the durability that you expect.

The Craftsmanship – All of our customs boots are 100% handmade in our Houston, TX bootshop. In the 1836 Collection (stock line of boots) our team in our North American shops (Houston & Leon) handcraft them with a standardized design and we cut out the middle-man to lower our price to you. In our custom boots we hand shape our toe boxes, hand stitch the tops, hand last the fit, and pour many more hours in finalizing the perfect boot. We do it the old-school way, because it’s the right way.

Finally found pair of leather snake boots

I’ve been looking for a good pair of snake boots that were leather for quite some time with no luck. Stumbled across these while I was shopping for some dress boots. I expect these are going to last me a very long time. Jake was a lot of help and this store is something special.

Look out rattlers!

We have been overun at our ranch with rattle snakes and I always wanted a pair of dedicated snake proof boots. So I had tried the gamut of snake boots out there, ordering them and trying them on, sending them back for various reasons like the fit around my calf, country of origin etc., I must say these are the nicest, most comfortable snake boots I've tried, actually they are some of the most comfortable boots I've worn, took about a day or two to break in. You can wear these boots out and about with your jeans pulled over them and they would past muster at most venues. The only thing is the lug outsole is listed as "Vibram" but its not marked with the trademark on the bottom, the outsole is solid, just curious as i am a big fan of the Italian outsole brand! I will definitley pop into the shop next time I am in Houston!
